Prayer

Dear friends, please uplift the following individuals in earnest prayer unto our great Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous. (1 John 2:1). As our High Priest in the heavenly sanctuary, Christ admonishes us to come boldly to His throne of grace in our time of need. As One who experienced the same temptations that we faced during His earthly life, the following promise is given as an example for us:

“Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:14-16. All emphasis supplied).

Thank you and may God guide each of you to the point where Jesus may live in your heart eternally.

Contact us if you have any prayer requests that you wish to share.

My name is Melba Willis, I live in Newberry SC. I was being tested to have a “Heart Transplant”, while going through all the test before being put on the waiting list for this new heart for me they discovered from a mammogram that something was showing up on it. After doing a biopsy we got the dreaded news I have “CANCER” in my left breast.

This has created a problem because now they said I have to go to surgery in 2 weeks to try and remove the cancer. We don’t know if my heart will be strong enough for me to under go a surgery. We are working against time. Only God can help me now so we are asking that prayers be said for me, my husband and daughter and son. My daughter will be flying in from Walla Walla, Washington to be with us for this surgery. My son lives in Texas. Please pray for us all. Thank you in advance for your prayers.

I am a single mother raising 4 children alone. My ex-husband sexually molested our little girl when she was 5 yrs old. Since trying many times to have him prosecuted, we had to give up because it was emotionally draining everyone in the family. I have lost my job as a secretary and am in dire need of finding some work so I can raise my family. I am asking for prayers for my children and myself for the strength to carry on emotionally and financially. God bless you all – Ellen

I have a very urgent request that I would ask you to pass on to the group. It is for a little girl named Sara. She is a 6 year old girl who used to attend our church in Pennsylvania until she and her parents moved to South Carolina. They are all very strong Christians, however they have experienced a very trying event.

Sara’s younger sister died when she was 6 years old from a very rare disease. Sara was born with the very same disease and has recently suffered a stroke as a result of a virus that attacked her heart. She was flown to a children’s hospital in South Carolina and is on a heart transplant list due to the damage she suffered from this virus. This Tuesday, January 4th, she will undergo a surgery for the placement of an automatic defibrillator in her heart. This will hopefully delay the need for the transplant, however it is a very risky surgery. Her dad works at Bob Jones University and is receiving a lot of support from fellow believers there, however they have asked for additional prayer coverage for little Sara. Pray specifically for Sara, but also for her parents, Bob and Mary. They are strong, but see the many similarities between Sara’s condition and the condition of their other daughter before she died, so they are having a really hard time through this all. Sara is getting stronger everyday and her strength on her left side is steadily, although slowly, improving.

Thank you for forwarding this request to your group. God’s people who are faithful in lifting up these requests can do miracles through Christ from around the world!

RESENDING FOR KAREN – 31 December 1999

Hello to each of you my dear friends, It is with a heavy heart that I write this email to you. Yesterday afternoon our youngest son, Tony, age 34 was involved in a very serious accident at work. He was getting ready to pull the lever of the “bucket” from the machinery (the big crane thing, that I am not sure what it is called.) The wind blew some electric cables and the crane hit it and Tony was electrocuted with 38000 volts of electric. They transferred him to the burn trauma center of St. Johns Mercy Hospital by helicopter. They immediately sedated him to the point of being medically paralyzed. They notified my Daughter-in-law and she called us. We hurried to the hospital as quickly as the car would take us, not knowing anything about his condition. I am so sorry to say that we are going to be faced with a very long extensive ordeal. Our son lost his left leg this afternoon right above the knee because it was so badly burned. They are saying that he will probably loose his right arm just above the elbow and his left hand just above the wrist.

The doctor holds out very little hope of saving his hands but said he will do everything possible. We are praying above everything that his kidneys don’t fail. Doctor said that he will most likely get pneumonia but we just have to pray that he can fight and overcome it. I will try to keep you all posted but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, I beg of you, pray for my son and please put him on every prayer list that you know of. At this point, I can’t make myself pray “Thy will be done”

(November 1999)

Dear Prayer partners, I have an urgent request. I received a call my from my daughter that lives in Wa. state. My daughters grandmother was involved in a traffic collision this afternoon returning home from chruch. The car she was riding in was broad sided, she was in the passenger seat. She was the only one injured. They took her to Madigan Military Hospital, upon arriving she had a heart attack. She also has a broken neck. They sent her to a major trauma hospital in Seattle. When I talked to my daughter she said her grandmother was unable to move her arms. The doctors don’t know at this point if she is paralised. She is in very critical condition. I am asking all of you to please be in prayer for her. Her name is Frances. I have put her in God’s wonderous hands. Father I ask that you be with Frances. Keep her in your loving care. Give her family the piece of mind that only you can give Father God.

Frances was my mother in law. We always got along just wonderful. Her son and I have not been married for many years, but that doesn’t matter. She is still a precious soul.

In My Father’s loving name, Amen – Sandy.
